There is an old saying: “Medicine is in grass and trees.” If, when we only see a well-cultivated green grass our senses come alive, then what about all those plants that have been used for thousands of years to cure illnesses, save our health or simply to spread a pleasant atmosphere, tranquility, serenity or perhaps to create sexual desire? In this present article we present to our readers some recipes to help them unwind, get rid of anxiety and create a merry and serene environment around themselves.

The favourite plants of humans have always been the fragranced spices, flowers and fruits. They have been collected and dried or their oils pressed in order to save their effective ingredients for the longest possible time. These were then eaten or used to cure the body or as aphrodisiacs or only for their anti-stress effects. If we want to bring beauty, serenity, peace and harmony to our hectic life, to introducing fragranced oils, herbs and tisanes is a good place to start. The summary below will help you create tranquility around you and within.

Gorgeous, relaxing bath with essential oils

  • 4 drops of lavender oil,
  • 3 drops of marjoram oil,
  • 2 drops of chamomile oil,
  • 2 drops of cypress oil,
  • 2 drops of orange blossom oil,
  • 2 drops of sandalwood oil,
  • 1 drop of frankincense oil,
  • 1 drop of jasmine oil.

Mix the essential oil mixture with some milk or honey and pour the mixture into a bath half-filled with warm water. Stay and relax in the water for about 20-30 minutes.

Anti-stress massage oil

  • Carrier oil: jojoba- or sesame oil,
  • 8 drops of bergamot oil,
  • 8 drops of chamomile oil,
  • 8 drops of lavender oil,
  • 8 drops of sandalwood oil,
  • 6 drops of marjoram oil,
  • 6 drops of orange blossom oil,
  • 4 drops of frankincense oil.

Mix the carrier oil with the essential oils in a closed bottle. Keep in a cool place so that the oil will preserve its quality.

Along with its great effects on our health, it also keeps mosquitoes away, so it is recommended to grow it in pots and keep it in the window for summer evenings. Since its flowers are loved by bees, it is also called honey grass or bee grass.
